Lisa Barbour, Doctor of Audiology, has been with Bright Audiology for 2 years. She became interested in the field because she was born with hearing loss and was fit with her first pair of hearing aids at age 3. She has experienced the struggles of not being able to understand conversations and has a passion for helping others to improve their quality of life through better hearing.
Dr. Barbour obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from East Carolina University in 1998 and her Master’s Degree in Audiology from East Carolina University in 2000. She worked in a private practice hearing aid setting for a few years before completing her Doctorate in Audiology from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, School of Audiology in 2004. She also has 8 years of experience working in an otolaryngology (ENT) physician’s office. Dr. Barbour was thrilled to join Bright Audiology so that she can devote more clinical time to hearing aid fittings and aural rehabilitation.
Dr. Barbour is married and has two children (ages 11 and 5) keeping her very busy outside of the office. She enjoys attending her kids sporting events and reading.
